Does Car size matters?
If you ask any women who is travelling I am sure they will respond that size matters! However when you are booking a rental car, is bigger better? That will depend on a number of factors. For instance, how many are travelling and how much room will be needed for luggage. If you consider these two factors carefully, you should then book a hire car that will provide you with comfort and affordability.
When it comes to calculating how much space is needed, make sure you know exactly how far you have to travel between the airport and your accommodation with all of the passengers and luggage. This may not be that far and you may book a larger rental car, anticipating that you will need all of that room, all of the time. This is generally not the case. Yes, you may have to travel a distance with everything and everyone in the vehicle, but generally you do not travel everywhere on holiday with the entirety of your luggage. If you are realistic with your needs then you may find that you can save some money to spend on your holiday.
If you are planning a holiday that entails long drives with passengers and baggage, you may need to consider the amount of luggage that you are taking. You can save space on baggage by rolling your garments, as they will fit more efficiently. Also, if you use soft cases you will find when arranging the cases into the boot you have more leeway.
Once you have planned what luggage will be needed you can then determine what size hire car you will require. In some instances you may find that you can rent a luggage trailer to assist you. The trailers require you to generally hire a people mover or 4WD. Make sure this is organised when you book your car rental as some agents may not offer trailers with their hire cars.
So, when booking your rental car take note of the above points. Small cars are great and economical but may make your holiday disastrous. Please note that if you plan to travel with children you are aware of the exact size car you have chosen. Small cars are generally 3 door hatchbacks which will mean that the kids will have to climb through the front seats to get to the back.
Choosing the right size car will help determine if you have a memorable experience, or a disastrous holiday.
